What stays on the desk
Poems, stories, recipes, journal entries, sequence, cover art, and print options live in this browser. Download a save file if you want a copy you can open later. Clearing the browser can clear the desk.
What uses the network
- Infer may send a piece to suggest moods. You can ignore the suggestion. The piece is not kept as a library.
- Proof’s syntax and grammar pass may ask a short remote read. Spelling of obvious typos can run on the desk. Proof does not rewrite. You choose Use or Stet.
- Feedback mail sends only what you type in that form, including an address if you leave one.
- Jacket, Kindle, and hour payments go through Stripe. Stripe sees the card. Folio sees that the payment succeeded, not the number.
- A visitor key is stored in this browser so the desk can count sittings. It is not a name.
Cookies
No advertising cookies. Local storage holds the collection, the visitor key, and whether a jacket, Kindle pack, or hour is unlocked on this machine. That is the desk remembering, not a tracker.
